The Abstract Image shines a spotlight on the transformative role abstraction plays in photography, urging artists to step away from reality and embrace the infinite creative possibilities of non-representational expression. This theme challenges participants to defy conventional boundaries and experiment with alternative, imaginative, or even accidental aspects of their images. Through this exploration, photography becomes a powerful vessel for metaphorical storytelling and deeply personal artistic interpretation.

This open call, open to photographers worldwide aged 18 and older, invites submissions that reflect the diversity of photographic art. Accepted works can include any form of two-dimensional imagery, spanning traditional practices and experimental media. Artists are welcome to submit works crafted with analog, digital, or alternative photographic processes, provided they maintain a foundation in subjective photographic expression.
