In March 2026, Fondazione Capri launched an international open call through its official platforms, inviting photographers of all levels to engage with the theme VIAGGI E MIRAGGI. Whether professional or amateur, participants are encouraged to bring their unique vision to a concept that blends travel, imagination, and perception.

This year’s edition takes inspiration from the 200th anniversary of the rediscovery of the Blue Grotto—an iconic and almost mythical location tied to the time of Emperor Tiberius. The idea of rediscovery becomes a driving force, encouraging artists to rethink how we encounter and interpret the world around us.

At the heart of the theme lies the relationship with the sea, seen as both a physical destination and a symbolic space of transition. Photography becomes more than documentation—it becomes a portal, allowing us to move between realities, to explore distant landscapes, or to capture moments that feel just out of reach.

Each image functions as a threshold into an unknown “elsewhere,” drawing viewers in while challenging their expectations. Yet every journey implies a return, a moment of coming back changed by the experience. It is within this ongoing movement—between exploration and reflection—that photography finds its most powerful expression.
