This past March, the Capri Foundation opened its doors — and its platforms — to photographers from around the world, calling upon both professionals and hobbyists to help tell a story that belongs to all of us. Under the evocative theme “HISTORY IS US,” the 2025 Open Call asks a simple yet profound question: how do we remember, and how do we bear witness to the world around us?

In every snapshot lies a sliver of time, a moment that has passed but is never truly lost. Each photograph has the power to echo through generations, becoming part of a much larger human narrative. Through this Open Call, the Capri Foundation invites photographers to capture those echoes — to submit works that serve as living proof of where we’ve been and who we’ve become.

The opportunity is open to all photographers, from any part of the world and at any stage of their creative journey. The deadline for submitting works is Sunday, 29 June 2025, at 11:59 p.m. To apply, participants must submit a folder containing their images, a short text describing the work, and a brief biography. Please note that only submissions following these instructions will be reviewed.

The jury will select two projects that will go on to be exhibited at the breathtaking Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri, starting in September 2025. The Capri Foundation will take care of the entire exhibition process — from production to installation — ensuring the winning artists’ stories are shared in the most impactful way possible.
