In March 2025, the Capri Foundation proudly announced the launch of its international open call for photographers, inviting both seasoned professionals and passionate amateurs from around the globe to take part in a compelling creative journey. This year’s theme, “HISTORY IS US,” encourages participants to explore photography as a means of documenting and reflecting upon the shared human experience. Every image submitted should be considered not just a visual capture of a moment in time, but a valuable piece of our collective memory — a testament to who we are, where we come from, and where we might be going.

This open call is open to all photographers, regardless of background or experience level. Submissions are welcome until 11:59 p.m. (local time) on Sunday, June 29, 2025. To participate, each applicant must prepare a folder containing the photographic work (or series), a brief descriptive text that explains the concept or story behind it, and a short biography of the photographer. Entries that do not adhere to these submission guidelines will unfortunately not be considered by the jury.

From the pool of submissions, two outstanding projects will be selected by an expert panel of jurors. The chosen works will be featured in a public exhibition held at the historic Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri, opening in September 2025. All exhibition production and display logistics will be fully managed and funded by the Capri Foundation.
