Maine Media is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for emerging visual storytellers. This year, one photographer and one filmmaker will each receive a Canon EOS R8 camera, a powerful creative tool designed to help bring new visions to life. In addition to this award, the winning photograph and film will be showcased on Maine Media’s website and across our social media channels, giving the winners a platform to share their work with a wider audience. The official announcement of winners will take place on November 24, 2025.

How to Enter

Participation is simple but comes with a few important guidelines. All submissions must be created using a Canon product—whether a camera or another Canon imaging device. Each person may submit only one entry for consideration.

This competition is open to all on-campus workshop students currently studying at Maine Media. If you are under the age of 18, please ensure you have permission from a parent or guardian before entering.

Once the judging process is complete, the winners will be notified via email using the address they registered with. Please note that all decisions made by the judges are final.

We encourage participants to think boldly, experiment freely, and express their individual artistic voice. This competition is not only a chance to win incredible gear—it’s a celebration of the creative spirit that defines the Maine Media community.
