For a quarter of a century, Canon and Visa pour l’Image have proudly supported female photographers making waves in the world of photojournalism. The Canon Female Photojournalist Grant is a prestigious recognition awarded to an outstanding photographer whose impactful work deserves both acknowledgment and support.

The winner of the 2025 grant will receive €8,000 to fund her project, allowing her to continue telling powerful stories through her lens. This year, the spotlight also turns to the remarkable work of Cynthia Boll, the 2024 winner. Her insightful project explores how the relocation of Indonesia's capital from Jakarta to Nusantara, situated on the island of Borneo, is reshaping the social fabric of affected communities. Boll's photography offers a poignant and intimate look at the human stories behind this major transition.
