For twenty-five remarkable years, Canon and Visa pour l’Image have steadfastly celebrated the powerful voices of women in photojournalism through the Canon Female Photojournalist Grant. This prestigious award recognizes the courage, dedication, and creative vision of female photographers who bring critical stories to the world.

In 2025, one deserving photojournalist will be awarded a grant of €8,000 to support her ongoing or new photographic project, empowering her to continue shining a light on important global issues. This year, audiences will have the opportunity to witness the incredible work of 2024 grant recipient Cynthia Boll. Her project explores the profound social changes stemming from Indonesia's decision to move its capital from Jakarta to Nusantara, located on Borneo. Through Boll's compelling images, viewers can better understand the human impact of this massive geopolitical shift.
