Black Box Gallery is pleased to announce an upcoming juried group exhibition dedicated exclusively to color photography. This exhibition aims to explore the wide-ranging and evolving role of color within contemporary photographic practice.
Today, color photography encompasses an extraordinary spectrum of visual approaches. Photographers employ dynamic and expressive color in diverse genres, including landscape, portraiture, architecture, fashion, street photography, abstraction, documentary work, still life, narrative storytelling, conceptual projects, nature photography, and night imagery. Color is no longer simply descriptive—it has become a powerful creative tool capable of shaping mood, meaning, and visual impact.
This exhibition invites photographers to consider how color influences the way they think, compose, and communicate through their images. How does color guide visual attention, create emotional resonance, establish atmosphere, or define style? How do contemporary artists use color to captivate viewers and push the boundaries of photographic expression?
