Black Box Gallery is excited to present a juried group photography exhibition exploring the captivating relationship between Trees and Water. These two essential elements of the natural world have inspired artists for generations, and this exhibition aims to showcase the many creative and contemporary ways photographers engage with their beauty, power, and symbolism.
Water is constantly changing, shifting between states and forms. It can be found in expansive oceans, rushing rivers, still lakes, reflective pools, urban fountains, gentle rain, drifting fog, winter snow, or the rhythmic energy of waves. Water has the unique ability to shape landscapes, create mood, evoke memory, and transform the visual experience of a photograph.
Trees offer an equally rich source of inspiration. Their roots, branches, textures, and silhouettes provide photographers with powerful compositional tools and visual anchors. Trees can represent strength, growth, solitude, endurance, and the passage of time. Whether captured in dense forests, open landscapes, or unexpected urban settings, they have the ability to tell stories that connect deeply with viewers.
This exhibition invites photographers to explore both subjects through their own artistic lens. We are interested in work that celebrates observation, imagination, experimentation, and personal expression. From documentary approaches to abstract interpretations, from intimate details to sweeping landscapes, all creative perspectives are welcome.
The theme offers endless opportunities for photographs that are lyrical, mysterious, emotional, and visually striking. We encourage artists to explore new ideas, challenge conventional approaches, and discover fresh ways of seeing. Black Box Gallery is excited to bring together a vibrant collection of images that reveal the enduring fascination and creative potential of Trees and Water in contemporary photography.
