Black Box Gallery Presents: The “Open Theme” Photography ExhibitionPhotography speaks a universal language — and at Black Box Gallery, we believe in giving that language the freedom to express itself in all forms. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our upcoming juried group show, “Open Theme.” There are no restrictions — just you, your camera, and your creativity.

Submit your favorite images, your proudest shots, the ones that tell your story best. We welcome all photographic styles and genres — street photography, fashion, architecture, conceptual art, documentary, portraiture, landscape, nature, black and white, color, night scenes, and more. Whether your work is bold and experimental or quiet and contemplative, it has a place here.

This open call is an opportunity for photographers of all levels and backgrounds to be part of a vibrant and eclectic exhibition. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to share your work with the world — this is it.

Meet Our Juror: Todd JohnsonThe exhibition will be juried by the gallery’s founder and director, Todd Johnson, an established figure in the photographic arts community. Todd holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and has over two decades of experience as an artist, curator, and educator.

His curatorial work includes exhibitions at Linfield College, Mile Post 5, and The Gorilla Art Gallery, among others. He has reviewed photography portfolios for respected organizations such as Photolucida and Critical Mass. Todd’s own photography has appeared in galleries across the U.S., from Portland to Brooklyn to Washington D.C. With his seasoned eye and deep understanding of the medium, Todd brings thoughtful insight and genuine passion to the curatorial process.
