Theme: Contemporary Color Photography – A Call for Entries
Black Box Gallery warmly welcomes photographers from all backgrounds to participate in our juried group exhibition dedicated to the theme of color in contemporary photography. We are looking for artists who explore how color shapes the mood, meaning, and impact of their work. This show is an open platform for creative voices using color in innovative, personal, and visually compelling ways.
Color is a central force in photographic storytelling. It can set a tone, define a space, evoke nostalgia, or challenge perception. This exhibition invites submissions across all forms of photography: landscape, street, fashion, abstract, documentary, portrait, conceptual, night photography, and more. Whether your approach is subtle or bold, we're interested in how you use color to express your photographic vision.
Meet the Juror: Todd Johnson
Todd Johnson, founder and director of Black Box Gallery, will serve as the juror for this exhibit. With over 25 years of experience in the arts, Todd brings a practiced eye and a deep passion for photography. He holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and has reviewed work for prestigious organizations like Photolucida, Critical Mass, and Blue Sky Gallery.
In addition to running Black Box Gallery, Todd has curated shows at a range of respected institutions and galleries throughout the U.S. His own photography has been exhibited widely, from the Pacific Northwest to New York and California. Through his work, Todd continues to support emerging and established artists and champion meaningful photographic expression.
