Birdo - Bird Photographer of the Year 2025

The highly anticipated Birdo Bird Photographer of the Year 2025 international photo contest is set to begin accepting entries on March 10, 2025. This remarkable competition, now in its fourth year, was established with the noble goal of encouraging people across the globe to appreciate the rich diversity and extraordinary beauty of birdlife. Since its inception, the contest has successfully attracted talented photographers from around the world, sparking curiosity and fostering admiration for birds in all their forms.

In 2024, the competition proudly received entries from participants representing 30 different countries. This impressive global reach enriched the contest with stunning perspectives and fresh interpretations of avian life. For the upcoming 2025 edition, organizers are determined to expand this reach even further, inviting photographers from new regions to participate. By drawing entrants from diverse cultural backgrounds, the competition not only enhances the participants' experience but also exposes audiences to an incredible range of bird species, natural environments, and photography styles. This powerful exchange of ideas and perspectives ultimately benefits everyone involved, from passionate bird photographers to casual nature lovers.

The competition welcomes photographers of all ages and skill levels, ensuring that anyone with an appreciation for birds can share their vision and creativity. The 2025 edition will feature a total of ten categories, including nine primary categories plus a special category dedicated to conservation. Notably, the contest remains completely free to enter, making it accessible to photographers regardless of financial background.

The additional Conservation category holds special significance. It spotlights photographic projects that focus on the protection of birds and their habitats. By introducing this category, the contest aims to raise awareness about the fragility of bird populations and the urgent need for collective conservation efforts. Each year, a winning photo series is selected in this category, recognizing a project that not only showcases stunning visuals but also emphasizes the importance of protecting birdlife. Through this powerful blend of art and advocacy, the Birdo Bird Photographer of the Year competition continues to inspire photographers to use their craft as a force for positive environmental change.
