Artists working within a representational photographic style are warmly invited to submit their work to the MPB Photography Award. This includes all photographic practices, whether created through analogue processes, digital capture, or a combination of both. As long as the work remains grounded in photographic representation, it is eligible for consideration.

We recognize that the boundaries between photography and digital art have increasingly overlapped, and that many artists now work across both disciplines. To help guide submissions, we ask applicants to consider the extent of digital manipulation in their final image. If your work involves substantial digital transformation beyond the original photograph—such as compositing entirely new backgrounds, incorporating additional visual elements, extensive digital painting, or significant alterations that reshape the original image—then it is more appropriately submitted to the Digital Art Award category.

However, if your process involves standard post-production techniques—such as color correction, exposure adjustment, retouching, or other minor edits that enhance rather than fundamentally alter the photograph—your work remains eligible for the Photography Award.
