The primary aim of the competition is to celebrate and highlight the finest examples of mountain-themed photo essays. This competition seeks to recognize exceptional storytelling through a series of carefully curated still images. We encourage photographers from all backgrounds and experience levels to submit their work, showcasing stories that reflect the multifaceted essence of mountains. These stories could touch upon themes such as culture, adventure, wildlife, sports, environmental concerns, or the natural history of mountainous regions.
The jury is on the lookout for photo sequences that go beyond mere aesthetics, weaving a narrative or delivering a meaningful message through the interplay of individual images. Each photograph in the series should not only stand out as a strong, independent work but also contribute to a cohesive and impactful narrative when presented in the sequence envisioned by the photographer. This competition is as much about the art of storytelling as it is about the technical and artistic quality of the photographs.
