The International Nature Photography Competition & Exhibition is an invitation to explore and honor the natural world through photography. It seeks to bring together a global community of image-makers who are inspired by nature—its beauty, its fragility, and its evolving story. Submissions may range from intimate studies of plant and animal life to expansive landscapes, as well as visual narratives that engage with the urgent realities of conservation.
Works selected for the exhibition will be presented in a thoughtfully curated, in-person show at the Arcadian Gallery in Cumberland, Maryland. Located in the central Appalachian region, Cumberland offers a unique setting where natural beauty and cultural activity intersect. As an emerging arts destination within reach of Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, it provides an ideal context for connecting audiences with the themes explored in the exhibition.
The competition offers $5,000 in total prize awards, recognizing both artistic achievement and the ability to communicate meaningful environmental narratives. A special emphasis is placed on conservation storytelling, with a $500 Conservation Cause Award directed to an organization chosen by the winning photographer in that category—ensuring that the work contributes directly to real-world impact.
Beyond recognition and exhibition, this initiative is grounded in a commitment to environmental stewardship. As part of this effort, 10% of the Arcadian Gallery’s commission from all sales made during the exhibition will be donated to a conservation organization selected by the juror. This approach reinforces the idea that art can play an active role in supporting the preservation of the natural world, transforming appreciation into tangible action.
