The International Nature Photography Competition & Exhibition is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating excellence in nature photography from artists around the globe. The competition invites submissions that capture the beauty, complexity, and urgency of the natural world, encompassing subjects such as flora and fauna, sweeping and intimate landscapes, and compelling narratives centered on conservation and environmental awareness.
Selected works will be featured in a professionally curated, in-person exhibition held at the Arcadian Gallery in Cumberland, Maryland. Situated in the scenic central Appalachian region, Cumberland is an emerging cultural hub with a growing reputation as an arts destination. Its accessible location—within convenient reach of major metropolitan areas such as Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh—ensures that the exhibition will engage a broad and diverse audience.
The competition offers a total of $5,000 in prize funding, designed to support and acknowledge the achievements of participating photographers. In addition, a dedicated $500 Conservation Cause Award will be granted to a conservation organization selected by the recipient of the Conservation Storytelling award, reinforcing the connection between artistic practice and environmental advocacy.
Sustainability and environmental responsibility are central to the mission of this initiative. In alignment with this commitment, 10% of the Arcadian Gallery’s commission from all artwork sales during the exhibition will be donated to a conservation organization chosen by the juror. Through this contribution, the exhibition seeks not only to showcase the natural world, but also to actively support efforts to protect and preserve it.
