The Allard Prize Committee and Maxe Fisher, Retired Professor, Faculty of Design + Dynamic Media, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, adjudicate the biannual Allard Photography Competition, which honors photographic excellence that exemplifies the Allard Prize's goals.
Photographers are encouraged to enter throughout the year. The themes of courage and leadership in the fight against corruption, particularly through the promotion of transparency, accountability, the rule of law, human rights, and/or anti-corruption in general, should be reflected in entries. Additionally, entries that portray human rights abuses and corruption in the developed world are especially welcome.
The Allard Prize will award $1,000 CAD to the winning photograph, and it will be featured on the website for six months with a brief description and the photographer's name. Afterward, winning entries will be archived on the website as previous winners. You can read the full terms and conditions here.
The winners are chosen twice a year, shortly after the May 1 and November 1 submission deadlines. On their galleries page and on their social media channels, winners' photos are announced.
