From its inception, photography has been deeply intertwined with representations of women. Beyond being frequent subjects of the camera, women have actively shaped the medium by using photography as a means of exploration, documentation, and personal expression. Across generations, photography has provided a space for women to define themselves, tell their own stories, and challenge dominant visual narratives.
The 55th edition of AAP Magazine invites photographers to engage with this ongoing dialogue by celebrating the significance of women and their contributions across all aspects of life. This edition encourages submissions that highlight the strength, beauty, labor, vulnerability, kindness, and resilience embodied by women in diverse contexts and communities.
Photographers are encouraged to submit a unified series or portfolio that thoughtfully captures these themes. The subject matter is entirely open, welcoming work across all genres, including fashion, nude, documentary, portrait, sports, fine art, and commercial photography. All capture methods and processes are accepted, from digital to analog, as well as experimental techniques and monochromatic approaches.
Award recipients will share $1,000 in cash prizes and will have their selected images or complete portfolios published in AAP Magazine. Winners will also receive significant press coverage and international visibility, providing an opportunity for global recognition within the photographic community.
