Since the earliest days of photography, women have existed at the heart of the medium—not only as subjects being observed, but as active participants using the camera as a tool for expression, reflection, and change. Photography has offered women a space to document their realities, explore identity, and give visual form to stories that might otherwise remain unseen.
With its 55th edition, AAP Magazine calls on photographers to honor and celebrate the many dimensions of women’s lives. This open call seeks work that captures the essence of what women do and represent: their dedication and hard work, their beauty and grace, their strength, resilience, compassion, and creativity. The goal is to present women as complex, dynamic individuals across cultures and experiences.
Submissions should consist of a cohesive body of work or a complete portfolio. The theme is intentionally broad, allowing photographers full creative freedom. Fashion, nude, documentary, portrait, sports, fine art, and commercial photography are all welcome, as are all photographic processes, including digital, analog, and experimental or monochromatic techniques.
Winners will receive $1,000 in cash awards, along with publication of their winning image or full portfolio in AAP Magazine. In addition, selected photographers will benefit from extensive press coverage and international exposure, ensuring wide recognition for their work.
