We invite photographers to submit work that explores the visual power of shape through photography. From striking geometric forms to subtle organic patterns, shape is one of the essential building blocks of photographic composition and a key element in creating visually engaging images.
The ability to recognize and interpret shape allows photographers to see beyond the obvious subject matter and discover new perspectives within everyday environments. Through the interaction of light, texture, shadow, and form, even the most familiar objects can become captivating artistic subjects. Shapes can establish rhythm, structure, contrast, and harmony, influencing how viewers engage with an image and contributing significantly to its aesthetic impact.
For this edition, we are seeking photographs in which shape plays a dominant role. We encourage submissions where form becomes the primary focus of the image, whether through abstraction, minimalism, pattern, repetition, silhouette, or innovative compositional approaches. We are particularly interested in projects that demonstrate a strong understanding of visual design and creative interpretation.
All genres of photography are welcome. Submissions may include architectural studies, portraits, landscapes, street photography, conceptual works, fine art projects, nudes, still lifes, or experimental imagery. Traditional and contemporary photographic approaches are equally encouraged, and we welcome diverse perspectives from photographers across the globe.
Applicants should submit a cohesive portfolio or body of work that presents a consistent visual and conceptual approach. Selected photographers will be featured in AAP Magazine, where their projects will be presented as complete photographic series rather than standalone images.
Please ensure that your submission consists of a unified collection of photographs. Individual, unrelated images will not be considered. Photographs that have previously been published in AAP Magazine are not eligible for submission.
