Look beyond the subject. Look beyond the story. Look at the shapes.
Every photograph is built from a combination of light, shadow, texture, line, and form. Among these elements, shape remains one of the most powerful tools available to photographers. It can simplify complexity, create visual impact, evoke emotion, and transform the ordinary into something extraordinary. A simple curve, a dramatic silhouette, a repeating pattern, or the interplay between positive and negative space can become the foundation of a remarkable image.
This call invites photographers to celebrate the art of seeing through shape. We are searching for images that reveal how form can define a photograph and become its primary subject. Whether discovered in urban architecture, the natural world, the human body, or abstract compositions, shapes offer endless opportunities for creativity and visual exploration.
We encourage photographers to experiment with perspective, framing, light, and shadow to uncover unexpected forms and relationships. Your work may be bold and graphic, subtle and minimalist, abstract and conceptual, or richly detailed. What matters is your ability to use shape as a visual language and to create images that engage, surprise, and inspire viewers.
All photographic genres and techniques are welcome. From architecture and landscape photography to portraiture, street photography, fine art, documentary, nude studies, and experimental work, we invite submissions that demonstrate originality and a strong artistic vision. We are eager to discover innovative projects from photographers working in every corner of the world.
To be considered, please submit a cohesive portfolio or photographic series. We are looking for bodies of work in which the images are connected by a common visual approach, theme, or concept. Selected projects will be featured in AAP Magazine as complete collections that showcase the photographer's creative vision.
Only unified groups of photographs will be accepted for publication. Images that have previously been published in AAP Magazine may not be submitted again.
