At the core of photography lies the ability to reduce the world into its most fundamental elements: light, texture, shape, and shadow. These components don’t just support a composition—they can become the subject itself, revealing stories in simplicity and elegance.

Among these, shape and form stand out as vital pillars of visual structure. Their influence is immediate and enduring, shaping how we perceive and emotionally respond to an image. Shapes can be geometric or organic, positive or negative, defined or ambiguous—each variation contributing to how meaning and beauty are communicated through the lens.

We’re looking for photographs where shape doesn’t just enhance the composition—it defines it. Whether bold or minimal, sharp or abstract, shape should take center stage in your work.

This is an open call for submissions across all styles and genres—architecture, street, portrait, nude, landscape, documentary, and beyond. We are particularly interested in cohesive photographic projects that investigate the language of shape in novel, surprising, or emotionally resonant ways.

Please submit a consistent body of work or a curated portfolio that reflects a unified theme or visual approach. Individual images will not be accepted for this issue; we are only reviewing series that demonstrate intention and artistic cohesion. Additionally, previously published content in AAP Magazine is ineligible for resubmission.
