Shape is everywhere. It exists in the curves of the human body, the rigid geometry of architecture, the patterns found in nature, and the fleeting arrangements of light and shadow that appear for only a moment. Often overlooked, shape has the ability to transform the way we experience a photograph, turning simple observations into powerful visual statements.

For this call, we invite photographers to explore the theme of Shape and to examine how form can become both a compositional tool and a subject in its own right. We are seeking photographs that distill the world into essential visual elements—light, texture, contour, volume, pattern, and space. Through careful observation and creative interpretation, photographers can reveal unexpected beauty in ordinary objects and environments, encouraging viewers to see familiar subjects in entirely new ways.

Shape plays a vital role in how images communicate. Geometric forms can create order, balance, and precision, while organic shapes often evoke movement, emotion, and spontaneity. Positive and negative space can interact to produce tension, harmony, or ambiguity. Whether clearly defined or subtly suggested, shapes influence the visual rhythm of a photograph and shape the viewer's emotional response.

We welcome projects that place shape at the center of the photographic experience. Your work may focus on abstraction, minimalism, repetition, symmetry, contrast, or the relationship between objects and space. We are interested in photographs where shape is not simply present, but where it becomes the dominant visual force that drives the image.

Submissions are open to all genres and approaches, including architecture, landscape, portraiture, street photography, fine art, documentary, still life, nude studies, and experimental practices. Whether your work is rooted in traditional photographic methods or pushes the boundaries of the medium, we encourage bold, original, and thoughtful interpretations of the theme.

Photographers from around the world are invited to submit a cohesive series or portfolio that demonstrates a consistent artistic vision. We are looking for bodies of work in which each image contributes to a larger visual conversation, creating a unified and compelling project.

Selected portfolios will be featured in AAP Magazine. Please note that only cohesive photographic series will be considered for publication. Individual images that do not form part of a unified body of work will not be accepted, and photographs previously published in AAP Magazine are not eligible for resubmission.
