AAP Magazine #57 “Portrait” calls on photographers to explore the many dimensions of human identity through portrait photography. From classical studio setups to contemporary self-portraiture, the genre continues to evolve while remaining rooted in its ability to capture emotion, character, and connection. Strong portraits have the power to communicate across cultural and geographical boundaries, offering insight into the subject’s personality and story.

We invite submissions that highlight both the technical and conceptual aspects of portrait-making. Photographers are encouraged to present work that reflects diversity, creativity, authenticity, and individuality. Accepted formats include studio portraits, candid street photography, self-portraits, conceptual work, and fine art approaches.

Considering the vast diversity of people worldwide, participants are asked to focus on subjects that hold personal meaning or significance. All photographic genres and techniques are eligible, including color and black-and-white images, as well as traditional and experimental processes involving digital editing.

Entries will be judged according to three main criteria: creativity, originality, and visual or emotional impact. Winners will be announced on the All About Photo website and promoted through its social media channels.
