Color is more than a visual element—it’s an expressive tool, a storytelling device, a mood-setter, and sometimes even the subject itself. Life, in all its forms, is framed by color: the deep reds of emotion, the tranquil blues of contemplation, the electric yellows of energy, and every subtle or vivid blend in between. Black and white, though seemingly devoid of color, remind us of its presence through contrast, absence, and tone.

This competition calls for photographers to reflect on the essential role color plays in their work. We are looking for submissions that demonstrate a thoughtful and deliberate approach to color photography. Preferably, this would take the form of a cohesive portfolio or body of work—a collection of images that speak to one another, visually or conceptually, and where color serves as a unifying element, if not the central focus.

We welcome a broad spectrum of photographic styles and disciplines: from documentary and photojournalism to fashion, street photography, landscapes, portraiture, urban and architectural photography, fine art, nude studies, and beyond. Whether your work leans toward realism or abstraction, we encourage any photographic interpretation where color plays a critical or conceptual role.

Winning photographers will be awarded $1,000 in cash prizes, their work published in AAP Magazine Issue #51, and receive extensive media coverage and international exposure, solidifying their place in the global photographic community.
