Black and white photography holds a unique place in the world of visual storytelling. By removing the distraction of color, monochrome images emphasize form, contrast, and composition, drawing attention to the details that might otherwise go unnoticed. This classic style evokes a timeless quality and often stirs a strong emotional response in viewers, making it a powerful medium for a wide range of photographic genres.

We are pleased to announce our latest photography contest, dedicated entirely to the art of black and white photography. Submissions are open to all styles and approaches, including but not limited to: photojournalism, street photography, fine art, portraiture, nude studies, landscapes, wildlife and nature photography, urban scenes, architecture, fashion, and documentary work.

Applicants are encouraged to submit a well-curated, cohesive portfolio—a group of images that work together to reflect a unified concept, theme, or stylistic approach. Only complete series will be considered for publication in AAP Magazine. Please be advised that any images previously published in AAP Magazine are not eligible for resubmission.
