Action Against Hunger is pleased to open the fourth edition of its Grant for a New Humanitarian Perspective, an initiative that supports photographers and visual storytellers committed to telling humanitarian stories with honesty, sensitivity, and respect.

The 2026 edition will award a €5,000 grant to one outstanding project focused on food systems and nutrition. Applications are open to both completed projects and works currently in progress, provided they explore this year's theme and reflect Action Against Hunger's mission to fight hunger and its root causes.

Projects must relate to the organization's fields of expertise and take place in one of the countries where Action Against Hunger France carries out its humanitarian work: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, France, Iraq, Jordan, Liberia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, Chad, Ukraine, Yemen, or Zimbabwe.

The grant was created not only to recognize exceptional visual work, but also to give greater visibility to the people and communities at the heart of humanitarian action. Through compelling and responsible storytelling, it aims to shine a light on the challenges they face, the solutions they develop, and the resilience they demonstrate every day.

At its core, the Grant for a New Humanitarian Perspective is an invitation to rethink how humanitarian realities are represented. It encourages projects that move away from simplistic or stereotypical portrayals in favor of narratives that are collaborative, ethical, and grounded in the lived experiences of the people being photographed. By supporting these new perspectives, Action Against Hunger hopes to contribute to more balanced, meaningful, and human-centered storytelling that fosters empathy, understanding, and lasting engagement.
