In 2025, Action contre la Faim will once again spotlight the transformative power of creative storytelling with the launch of its annual humanitarian grant. One project will be selected to receive a €5,000 grant, supporting a body of work that brings urgent attention to a humanitarian issue connected to the organisation’s mission. The project must be carried out in one of the many countries where Action contre la Faim is actively working—countries where our teams are engaged in providing lifesaving aid and long-term support to vulnerable communities.
We live in a time of growing global crises. The humanitarian landscape is shifting rapidly, and NGOs like ours are being called to adapt—operationally, ethically, and visually. In light of these changes, we have restructured the grant with a renewed sense of purpose: to center the voices of those often overlooked in mainstream narratives and to highlight the complex realities on the ground through the lens of engaged and responsible artists.
More than a funding opportunity, this initiative is a call to reimagine how humanitarian stories are told. We are seeking visual projects that push boundaries and resist oversimplification—projects that ask deeper questions, challenge harmful tropes, and offer a fresh perspective rooted in fairness, dignity, and mutual respect. This grant supports the creation of work that not only documents crises but also amplifies resilience, agency, and human connection.
Open to creators across the globe, this call welcomes submissions from a wide range of disciplines, including photography, video, illustration, animation, and design. Whether you are a solo practitioner or part of a creative collective, we invite you to submit a project that is grounded in thoughtful research, innovative production, and compelling visual language.
A jury composed of experts from across Action contre la Faim’s departments will meet in September or October 2025 to evaluate all proposals. The selected project will be shared with the public beginning in October 2026, through a digital showcase and potentially a physical installation, depending on feasibility and location.
