For the Memorial Maria Luisa, the responsibility of judging rests with a panel of esteemed mountain and nature photographers, appointed by the Founders Board. Their expertise, passion, and recognized standing in the world of photography ensure that the evaluation process is both rigorous and deeply attuned to the spirit of the contest. The jury’s verdict is absolute, extending also to the resolution of any issues or disputes that may arise. To honor equality among participants, each submitted work is stripped of identifying information; instead, it is given an alphanumeric code by the contest system. Thus, when the judges view a photograph, they encounter not a name, but an image—pure, anonymous, and open to interpretation on its own merit.
