FREE ENTRY / The Curated Fridge Fall 2023 Call

The Curated Fridge Autumn 2023 call is now open with curator Gordon Stettinius, owner, director, and publisher of Candela Books + Gallery!

Candela was founded in 2010, its mission being to elevate the discourse around contemporary photography for an already vibrant arts community in Richmond, Virginia. The gallery produces 8-9 feature exhibitions a year; one or two book related exhibitions; and one unbridled, free-for-all, group exhibition each summer, Unbound!, which, through the purchase of works, has amassed a collection of some 117 artworks and artist books to date.

Stetinius’ background, and interests are diverse. He has worked as a fine art photographer and editorially, exhibited his own work broadly, managed a stock photography agency, founded a publishing imprint, worked as an educator, represented and consulted on photographers’ estates, edited photo books, written on the subject of photography… As a reviewer, Stettinius hopes to see fresh, unfamiliar, subversive ideas. As a broker in objects, he hopes to see beautifully crafted works, even when those ideas and objects are scaled for the ever revolutionary and free radical Curated Fridge.
