Dreams offer us a glimpse into the realm of the unconscious. Although the images flickering and manifesting behind our eyes may seem bizarre and nonsensical, analysis of one's dreams can reveal their essence. Beneath the surface of our consciousness, the latent content of dreams illustrates the hidden meaning of our thoughts, drives, and desires. We suppress the manifestation of our unconscious to defend ourselves from primitive emotions that are especially difficult to contend with.
