About:

We live in a world that feels increasingly divided and yet a primary outcome of experiencing art can be to bring people together, bridging differences, healing rifts and exposing truths that lead to long-term reconciliation. Bridging Divides requires intention. It might mean spanning generations, healing divides within family, solving rifts between competing artistic mediums, or finding peace with one's own conflicts, to name a few. Creating bridges requires bravery. Entering into the process takes effort and fortitude; often including experimentation, and risk-taking. Art makes real such struggles, bringing them to the fore and making them visible to viewers, and laying oneself bare. Changing, ‘becoming’, and questioning are universals, and both highly personal and infinitely relatable. Please submit art that displays the concept of ‘Bridging Divides’ through whatever genre and style suits you; you may be literal, abstract, fantastical ~ this is entirely up to you. All mediums are welcome, including painting, photography, mixed media, collage, sculpture, fiber arts, and digital art, whether a short video or 2D digital work. Please supplement your work with a written statement so that judges may fully understand your connection to the theme, and also how your art expresses the theme of BRIDGING DIVIDES. prizes: 1 Grand Prize Winner: An Exclusive Solo Exhibition*** 5 Finalists: Inclusion in a Small Group Exhibition 1 See|Me Member Winner: Inclusion in a Small Group Exhibition 1 Student Prize: Inclusion in a Small Group Exhibition
