It is well recognized that young photographers have and are expanding the field of photography as a medium of experimentation and intellectual inquiry from photography’s very beginning to today. Freedom is perhaps the quintessential element in the practice of these photographers, whose work demonstrates the risk taking and the experimentation with new techniques and styles, blending themes and issues. Most importantly, it is the passionate instinct to follow their developing voice without compromise.

PhotoSC seeks images that reflect an array of perspectives, expression and narratives; that challenge viewers about contemporary thought and that challenge viewers to think critically about the emerging art and practice of photography.
