About:

Young Portfolio is a program organized by the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts (K*MoPA) to support young photographers from around the world by exhibiting and acquiring their works for our permanent collection. Anybody under the age of 35 is welcome to submit their works. We are looking for works by devoted photographers who are passionate about their creative efforts. It is not a contest in which people are only eligible to win a prize once. Multiple submissions may be made up until the age of 35. The museum aims to motivate young talents from across the world, to give them exposure and help kick-start their careers. Selection will be carried out by a selection committee appointed by the Museum. The 2022 selection committee members are Selection Committee for 2022: Antoine d'Agata, Rika Noguchi, and Masato Seto (Deputy Director of the Museum).

1) Preliminary screening: Application by submitting image data January 10, 2022 to February 10 (data must be received by February 10)

2) Final screening: For those selected in the preliminary screening only. Application by submitting of prints. Deadline for receipt of prints: April 30, 2022

Special Committee Member: Eikoh Hosoe (Director of the Museum).

Selected works will be purchased by the Museum at prices from JPY30,000 to JPY100,000 per work. In the case of multi-image works, the selection committee may, at its discretion, choose to purchase only some of the images. Photographers (copyright holders) whose work is selected for acquisition will be requested to sign the purchase agreement prescribed by the Museum.
