About:

The Luís Ksado International Prize for Photographic Creation has been announced. Documentary or photojournalistic series are eligible for entries. The first prize is €6,500. The prestigious Luís Ksado Prize, organized by the Provincial Council of A Coruña and coordinated by Galician photographer Xurxo Lobato, is now in its 19th year. This is a competition in which the jury blindly selects (without any information about the authorship) a winning series and other finalists on any subject, but documentary in nature, in the broadest sense of the term. The first prize is €6,500 and includes participation, along with the finalists, in a traveling exhibition in the province. Submissions can be made until May 30th. All persons of legal age interested in the field of photography who have not won this prize and who submit works that have not won any other prize or competition are eligible to participate. To participate, it is necessary to submit a photographic series of a minimum of six and a maximum of twelve images that are limited to the field of photodocumentary, photojournalism, or reportage in general. Documentation to be submitted: The copies, in 30 x 40 cm format, must be submitted without any type of assembly or framing, in color or black and white, and will be registered in the field of photodocumentary, photojournalism, or reportage in general. Images of montages or digital manipulation will not be accepted. The works must be sent to the Provincial Council of A Coruña, Avda. Porto da Coruña, 2, 15003 A Coruña, indicating on the envelope "XIX International "Luís Ksado" Prize for Photographic Creation." Each work will be presented under the sealed envelope system, so a separate envelope must be sent, on the outside of which the following must be stated: XIX Luís Ksado Prize for Photographic Creation, the title of the work or its motto, as well as the pseudonym of the person who is the author of the work. The following documentation must be included: - a copy of an identity document, address, a contact telephone number, and an email address. - a brief CV. - a declaration that the work is unpublished and that it has not won any other competition or award up to the date of submission. - a declaration of responsibility stating that the work is the author and owner of all rights and that they are temporarily transferred for the purposes of total or partial reproduction of the work and its inclusion in the catalog of works selected by the jury. - a declaration of express consent for the processing of personal data included in the application for participation in the 19th "Luís Ksado" Photographic Creation Award, in accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights. The photographs must bear the title of the series or a motto on the back, along with the serial number of each photograph within the series.Luis Ksado Prize and Winners The Luis Ksado International Prize for Photographic Creation establishes a single prize, for the winner, totaling 6,500 euros. In addition to the winning series, the jury also selects the non-winning works for inclusion in a traveling exhibition through municipalities in the province.
