About:

We are inviting artists residing and working in London to submit artwork for our new exhibition, Exploring grief and loss through art. Through the call we are keen to represent the experiences of artists from all backgrounds as we participate in an exploration of grief in contemporary art practice, providing a platform for sharing their insights and research into themes of loss, bereavement, and the art of healing through creative expression.

The exhibition seeks to foster a dialogue surrounding grief, loss, and bereavement, while delving into the dynamic ways contemporary artists respond to these emotions through their art. As societal norms and cultural influences shift, artists hold the potential to create fresh perspectives and meanings for grief in a modern context. It seeks to challenge perceptions, evoke emotions, and foster an environment of understanding and support for those who have experienced loss.

We hope to see innovative artwork and concepts. Artists participating in this call are encouraged to explore their personal experiences with loss, using their art as a medium for introspection, healing, and empathy.

The artworks will be part of a curated group exhibition selected by an experienced panel. We would love to see artwork from a range of visual media: drawing, paintings, sculpture, mixed media, video installation, photography, illustration, etc.

The selected artists will be given the opportunity to exhibit in the contemporary Gallery located within The Library at Willesden Green. Invitations, press releases and promotional material will be produced by the gallery supported by content supplied by contributing artists.
