FREE ENTRY / VIII Santiago Castelo International Photography Prize 2024

The Association of Extremadura for UNESCO announces the eighth edition of the International Photography Prize named after Santiago Castelo, in honor of the founding president of the Association of Extremadura for UNESCO. This award, which strengthens its cross-border nature between Spain and Portugal, seeks to reward photographic works that, within the creative freedom of their author, offer new visions of the cultural, monumental, natural, environmental, landscape and human wealth of the territories that comprise the EUROACE euroregion, or what is the same, the regions of Extremadura in Spain and Alentejo and Center in Portugal. A very large and vast international territory that occupies one sixth of the Iberian Peninsula and that offers such varied and disparate landscapes that range from the Atlantic coast to the pasture areas of Alentejo or Extremadura, with recognized heritage spaces such as Evora, Coimbra, Elvas, Mérida , Cáceres or Guadalupe. The images at competition must necessarily be carried out in the territory that includes this EUROACE euroregion. The Prize for this eighth edition will be 4,000 euros for the winning work and an Honorable Mention of €600 may be recognized for the author selected with this award.
