About:
By committing to freedom of creation and the diversity of its forms, Amiens Métropole ensures that it addresses the issues linked to the development of the visual arts sector in its territory and sees arts and culture as levers of development, catalysts for creation. innovative and vectors of influence and attractiveness. With the aim of contributing to the structuring of the sector, a Metropolitan Plan for Plastic and Visual Arts was adopted by the Council of Amiens Métropole in 2022, the result of a process aimed at knowing and understanding the artistic ecosystem, to the scale of the territory.
A fertile territory for creation, all disciplines combined, the community strives to reconnect with an ambition for the plastic and visual arts, which should make it possible to relaunch the support and promotion of artists and the gesture of creation, professionalization, without omitting the fundamental link to the public: the display.
Convinced of the importance of educating the view of contemporary art and of the need to generate encounters between audiences and contemporary creation, Amiens Métropole wishes to show and discover the production of artists who question the present time. Inaugurated in 2021, the Totem Gallery meets this ambition. A privileged place for meetings, the space made available to artists contributes to the dissemination and promotion of artistic practices and approaches, in the diversity of approaches and techniques.
The Totem Gallery is a managed metropolitan cultural facility located on the square in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Amiens. Offering a space of 75 m2, the Totem Gallery is accessible free of charge, Tuesday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This third call for projects constitutes support for the dissemination of contemporary plastic creation and is aimed at artists wishing to disseminate their work, as part of a collective exhibition.
