About:
FotoFest is partnering with The Curated Fridge for a photography open call presented during the
2026 FotoFest Biennial, Global Visions: FotoFest at 40. Based in Houston, Texas, the Biennial marks FotoFest’s 40th anniversary and reflects on photography’s long engagement with social, cultural, and artistic change.
This open call centers on the theme of Transformation. Photographers are invited to submit images that consider transformation in personal, social, cultural, environmental, or political contexts. We welcome a wide range of photographic approaches, from documentary and portraiture to experimental and conceptual work.
The show will be curated by Madi Murphy, Associate Curator at FotoFest, and Yorgos Efthymiadis, founder of The Curated Fridge. Selected images will be displayed on refrigerators located across three buildings in the Sawyer Yards campus in Houston where the central FotoFest Biennial exhibitions are located. The works will be on view throughout the Biennial, from March 12 to May 10, 2026.
