The art award "Hannes Malte Mahler – it is art®", first launched by feinkunst e.V. in 2020 and awarded every four years in memory of the Hanoverian artist Hannes Malte Mahler (1968–2016), is entering its second round. From 1 April to 30 September 2023, artists can apply online by submitting a project proposal. An independent jury will view the submissions and select the winning proposal, which will be realised with the award’s project funds and then presented 2026 in Hannover. The award consists of personal prize money of 15,000 € and a project and production budget of up to 105,000 €.
