FREE ENTRY / Fujifilm - World Photography Day 2025 Photography Contest

Madrid, August 1, 2025. Once again, Fujifilm celebrates World Photography Day on August 19th with the third edition of the #19-A Photography Contest, open to all photography lovers. The competition, which has the collaboration of the Photography Classroom of the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá and the specialized magazine Caption Magazine, reaffirms the Japanese company's commitment to promoting photographic art and supporting emerging talent. From August 1st to 19th, all photographers, both amateur and professional, of legal age and residents of Spain interested in participating, will be able to submit their most special captures, paying tribute to the passion for photography and the power of showing the world through unpublished images. The third edition seeks to highlight the creativity, sensitivity, and unique perspective of those who make photography an art form to capture moments, tell stories, and transform our view of the world. “At Fujifilm, we want to continue promoting creativity and highlighting the photographic talent that exists in our country. This contest is a way to celebrate not only World Photography Day, but also the unique perspective of those who discover an image in a moment, and from that image, a way to tell stories, to inspire emotion, and to preserve the collective memory of everything around us. We are very proud of the success of this contest, which we have enjoyed for three years now,” says Eduardo López, Director of Imaging and Recording Media at Fujifilm Spain. “For us, celebrating World Photography Day as a university with an event alongside Fujifilm is a luxury that unites art and participation. We are very clear that we want to turn photography into a space for encounter, reflection, and shared creation. Furthermore, the photowalk we organized that day is a fantastic activity for this purpose. Without a doubt, we believe in the power of images to reflect on the present and build community,” explains Natalia Garcés, Director of the Photography Classroom at the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá. How can I participate in the contest? The contest theme is completely open, and images taken from anywhere in the world are accepted. As with other editions, each participant may submit as many photographs as they wish. The submission period will be open from August 1st to 19th, inclusive. During this period, contestants can upload their photos to their Instagram profile by adding the hashtag #FUJIFILM25WorldPhotographyDay and follow the Instagram accounts: @fujifilm.es, @instaxcamara, and @myfujifilm.es. The completed contest rules, as well as the entry form, will be available on the official Imaging Magazine website. The jury will be composed of Natalia Garcés Fernández, Director of the Photography Classroom at the FGUA, Ignacio Izquierdo Patiño,editor of Caption Magazine and photographer Rodrigo Roher.
