About:

The FrstHand Calendar is back! Submit your best photos of 2023 and be featured! We are proud to announce that we are cooperating with Best Water Technology to bring you this call for photos. Learn more about their mission below. There have been a lot of changes this year. The global economy and heath sectors are attempting to recover after the effects of the pandemic, the technology sector has seen incredible advancements with AI reshaping industries. International relations are characterized by cooperation and also tension between major powers and social justice movements are gaining momentum globally. While climate action efforts intensified, extreme weather events served as poignant reminders of the climate crisis. Devastating hurricanes, wildfires, and floods affected regions across the globe, underscoring the urgency of adaptation and resilience measures. Nations also increased protected areas and launched initiatives to combat biodiversity loss. Large-scale tree planting initiatives aimed to sequester carbon, restore ecosystems, and combat deforestation. The Great Green Wall project in Africa continued to make strides in combating desertification. Governments and organizations worldwide collaborated on initiatives to protect marine life and combat plastic pollution. Conservation zones and stricter regulations aimed to preserve fragile coral reefs and vital ocean ecosystems. Although so many steps have been taken to save the Earth, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis continued to cause widespread devastation. For 2023: Natural and Environmental Events, we want to see your best photos on the topic of the ENVIRONMENT and NATURE!
