About:
Since 2020, the Ministry of Culture and Visa pour l'Image have annually awarded two production grants, endowed with 8,000 euros each, to women photographers in recognition of their contribution to photojournalism.
This prize, dedicated to women photojournalists, pays tribute to Françoise Demulder - French war photographer, first female winner of the World Press Photo in 1977.
The 2022 laureates are the German-Russian photographer Nanna Heitmann / Magnum Photos, for her reportage project on Russian society, in the capital, in the regions, but also in the occupied territories. And the Canadian photographer Adrienne Surprenant / MYOP, for her reportage project on the intertwining of climate problems and pollution in Tunisia.
