About:

FotoCreativaBA is an international training space for Contemporary Photography and Combined Arts, created in 2010. It is aimed at photographers interested in expanding their knowledge and projects, and in professionalizing their artistic practice. We are committed to supporting artists in their processes of exploration, research, and production, all the way to the presentation and circulation of their works, through the formation of specialized coordination teams, contemporary artist groups, and close, personalized follow-up. FotoCreativaBA Artistic Residency, a member of Res Artis - Worldwide Network of Arts Residencies - is located in downtown Buenos Aires, in the Patio del Liceo Gallery, a gallery of artists, designers, and bookstores, ideal for connecting with your project. From this new space, we welcome visual artists, photographers, researchers, curators, and work groups seeking time and space to reflect, discuss, and create. Our mission is to promote and develop cultural projects linked to Photography and Combined Arts, establishing a lively dialogue between artists from diverse disciplines. Applications are open year-round for residency proposals until December 2025, for a minimum period of one week. Residency Structure We offer a general structure to the artist-in-residence, which may vary depending on the project: - Regular feedback and project monitoring. - Studio visits to natural, historical, or industrial heritage, depending on the artist's project. - Tour of galleries and key artistic spaces in the city. - Monthly residency and local events agenda. - Free access to all FotoCreativaBA activities and training during the residency. - Registration of the residency and the process. Publication on our social media. - Open studio at the end of the residency. The resident will have at their disposal: - Professional support - The gallery as a workspace - Virtual library - Internet. Accommodation is not included. However, we will collaborate to secure one. We have two private accommodations to refer to. Working Groups / Collectives Working groups are accepted for short, medium or long-term residencies (up to 5 people). How to apply The way to apply for the residency is by spontaneous application. The call is open all year round and is paid. Minimum stay: 1 week Maximum stay: 6 months Interested parties must submit a PDF to hola@FotoCreativaBA.com, which includes: - Personal information: Name and surname, ID, Date and place of birth, Address, Telephone, email, Instagram, website or similar. - Photo of ID or passport (front and back). - Brief biography (maximum 500 words). - Start date and end date of your stay in residency. - Indicate if you require accommodation.- Motivation letter and plan of activities you wish to carry out in residency, with a model and/or visual references. Curatorial advisor: Natheim (Nathalia Heim) 1982, Bahía Blanca, Argentina. She has a degree in Social Communication from the University of Buenos Aires and is a Professional Photographer graduated from the Andy Goldstein School of Creative Photography and is a Cultural Manager certified by Matadero Madrid. Founder of FotoCreativaBA and FotoComBA - International Program of Photographic Artists. Professor at ISEC and guest professor at EFC, UBA and UNS. She has conducted workshops with Alberto Goldenstein, Alfredo Willimburgh, Daniel Tubío, among others; seminars with Rodrigo Alonso, Maricel Álvarez, Carmen Baliero, among others; and in various institutions such as EFTI, Workshop Experience and EuropaCreativa. She was a finalist at FELIFA 2021 and her book "Lurraldeak [Territorias]" was exhibited at FIEBRE Photobook Fest 2020, 2021 and 2022. In 2021 she was part of Proyecto PAC at the Gachi Prieto Gallery - Latin American Contemporary Art, and in 2023 she was part of MANGLAR, a program directed by Andrés Labaké, at Galería Acéfala. She has held solo and group exhibitions in Buenos Aires, Bahía Blanca, Tucumán (Argentina); Montevideo (Uruguay); Guayaquil (Ecuador); Madrid, Ezkio, Urretxu, Bilbao (Spain); Rome (Italy); Vendôme (France). Among them are: Museo d`Arte Contemporanea di Roma, Casa América in Madrid, Prix Mark Grosset de Promenades Photographiques, Bilbao International Festival of Experimental Film and Video, Haroldo Conti Museum, Argentine Photography Biennial, Gachi Prieto Gallery, CdF Montevideo. She was selected for the cross-border artist residency Patrim+ at the Museo Caserío Igartubeiti (Ezkio, 2019), Castillo de Seix (Couserans, 2020), ELF de Arte x Arte (Buenos Aires, 2021), Proyecto ´ace (Buenos Aires, 2022), Cal Gras (Avinyó, 2022), RARO (Madrid, 2022).
