About:
Photography is a way of looking at the world. It tells a story, a fragment of reality captured at a specific moment.
Each photographer brings a unique perspective to what they choose to show, what they decide to keep silent about, and what escapes the frame. The image then becomes an open space for storytelling, where the essential sometimes lies in what is not visible, in what is off-screen.
In front of each photograph, the viewer enters the image in turn. They project their own gaze, their experiences, their emotions, and create a new story. Thus, no photograph is fixed; it transforms infinitely.
Through this theme, Les Chemins de la Photographie 2026 invites photographers to explore the notion of gaze: their own, that of the other, and this silent dialogue between the image, its off-screen space and the one who contemplates it.
