FREE ENTRY / Festival De Photographie De Deauville - Planches Contact

Created in 2010, the Deauville Photography Festival, Planches Contact, invites established and emerging photographers to a creative residency each year to look at the region and develop their projects in and around Normandy. Planches Contact has always given an important place to emerging creation and new generations through the Tremplin Jeunes Talents program, a system which makes it possible to welcome five photographers at the start of their careers in residence each year, selected by a jury of professionals from the 'image. During their residency, photographers are supported by the festival team at the logistical, editorial and artistic level. They also benefit from the simultaneous presence of photographers invited by the festival, as well as advice and monitoring from the artistic direction.

Candidates are selected based on their application. A note of intent for the project, as well as a portfolio of previous work and a CV constitute the application file to be submitted to the Planches Contact jury. The five selected photographers receive a grant of €5,000, dedicated to the creation and production of the series which will be exhibited in the fall of 2024. Transport and accommodation costs are covered by the festival. At the end of the exhibitions, a selection of five images by photographer will join the collections of the Franciscans and the City of Deauville.
