Age is one of the first characteristics we notice in other people, right? But have you ever stopped to think about what happens when that view of aging is filled with stereotypes and prejudices? Ageism arises when we use age to classify and divide people, with negative effects on their well-being and on our society.

This phenomenon not only impacts intergenerational relationships but also poses an obstacle to effective public policies and healthy living for our seniors. And it's not just us who say this; the World Health Organization (WHO) has also recognized ageism as a serious challenge to healthy aging in its Global Action Plan on Aging and Health.
