About:

Madrid, April 24, 2025.- The Ankaria Foundation has launched the Ankaria Photo 2025 competition, the fourth edition of its 21st Century International Photography Prize, aimed at visual artists from around the world working with new forms of expression in the photographic language. With this award, the Foundation seeks to recognize innovative proposals that project themselves into the future of photography, abandoning its more documentary aspect and exploring alternative paths in the context of the internet, social media, and artificial intelligence. The series submitted must be unpublished or part of a project developed within the last three years. The prize includes two single awards: a first prize of 3,000 euros and a second prize of 2,000 euros. To participate, artists must submit a dossier in PDF format that includes at least 15 images, along with their personal information, details of the series, and a detailed explanation of the project. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2025. The artists awarded the third edition of the Ankaria International Photo Prize were María Acha and Cecilia de Val. A total of 132 projects from 20 countries participated in this call. About the Ankaria Foundation The Ankaria Foundation was founded in 2009 as an initiative of businessman and art collector Javier Rosón, with the aim of becoming a platform for thought and activities within the fields of current relevance: on the one hand, reflection on politics and its determining influence on the entire range of areas that make up society, and on the other, the promotion of culture in general, and contemporary art in particular, as a manifestation and measure of the degree of sensitivity, civilization, and development of societies. He currently chairs the Ricardo Martí Fluxá Foundation.
