The cypress swamps of the southeastern U.S. teem with life that is both easily seen and sometimes invisible. A wide variety of species flourish under the water, on the land, and above in the trees. they are a life force unto themselves. They are mysterious, dark, dangerous, beautiful, and constantly renewing. The Swamp is a contemplation on the cycle of a life. It reflects on the concerns and motivations at various stages of the human lifespan. The symbolic elements draw on philosophies from various cultures to reflect the universal human condition. Like the swamps, life can be mysterious, beautiful, and constantly renewing. This series a reflection on our lifespans and a homage to the fragile environments that support us.
