Art takes on many forms, reflecting the diverse experiences that inspire it. This truth spurred the creation of PhotoVogue twelve years ago. As a platform that embraces multiple visual mediums and fosters a creative community, PhotoVogue showcases a wide range of boundary-pushing image makers and elevates compelling stories conveyed through contemporary photography.
Fashion, much like photography, has been a canvas for individuality, particularly Levi’s® 501® jeans, which have been worn and loved across borders, cultures, and generations for 150 years. In honor of this shared spirit of self-expression, PhotoVogue and Levi’s® are partnering on a global open call to emerging visual storytellers. The Your 501® Story project asks artists to share what the 501® jean means to them through visual imagery that includes Levi’s® 501® jeans in any form.
All artists aged 18 or above are welcome to submit their work, which will be evaluated by a panel of five esteemed jurors from the international fashion and photography community. The open call is running on Picter and via Instagram with the hashtag #YOUR501STORY and tag @PhotoVogue from March 8 until April 19, and there is no charge to submit. Artists are encouraged to express their artistic freedom while adhering to PhotoVogue’s Submission Amendment. Both unpublished work and photos/videos taken for an already published editorial are accepted.
Selected submissions will be published on PhotoVogue's platform in relation to the PhotoVogue x Levi’s® Open Call, with a compensation of $250 USD. In addition, two participants – a photographer and/or video maker – with the most significant and interesting projects, as judged by the international panel, will receive a cash grant of $10,000 USD each, offered and paid by Levi’s®. The grant can be used to further their artistic endeavors and growth, which includes embarking on new photography and audio-visual projects.
